Let me introduce myself – my name is Patti-Jo and I am a “zebra” (people who have HSD/hEDS are referred to as zebras because when you hear hooves, you think of a horse instead of a zebra which is much rarer like people who have HSD/hEDS).
I am a middle aged woman who, after many years of numerous medical issues with no answers or relief, was eventually diagnosed with HSD (Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder)/hEDS (Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome), which also consists of numerous co-morbidities.
Although I will be giving a brief description of HSD/hEDS and the co-morbidities that go along with it, the purpose of this page is to educate other patients on tips, tricks and hacks I have learned while on this journey of living my new normal. My hope is to help others who are on a similar journey live a better, fuller life.
