We all know that we have complicated medical histories. Explaining it over and over to each new doctor is exhausting at best. But what if there is an emergency, we are alone and cannot communicate or we are so flustered that we forget to give important information?
I just got a product that can be invaluable in getting me help in an emergency. It’s called MyID. It is a medical ID bracelet or other item (depending on your needs) that has an ID and Pin number plus a QR Code. When the code is scanned or the ID and Pin numbers are used, EMS, emergency rooms, doctors, etc. can access your personal information, emergency contacts, medical conditions, medications, allergies and more if you have the Plus Subscription (doctors’ information, insurance card, family history, immunizations, procedures, scans, test results and other medical documents…). You can add notes about your symptoms, reactions or how to help you.
The app is easy to use, you can add updates, share it (with time limits), upload documents, have multiple accounts and link family members to it.
The products are not your typical bare minimum information medical bracelets. You can choose from a comfortable bracelet, hat, ID card, necklace, ID tag or a slider that slides on to the band of a smart watch.
This can be a life-saving item for a lot of people. I personally feel like it gives me more peace of mind and freedom by knowing that I can go out and if something were to happen to me, I would be able to get the right care I needed, not go through unnecessary testing that has already been done and that my family and friends would easily be contacted.
